Adenium obesum
Adenium obesum - Desert Rose
This plant likes full sun. Keep it watered when it is actively growing new leaves.
When it starts to bloom in the spring and again in the fall, taper off the water.
Rain on the flowers kills them, and too much water will make it stop blooming altogether and start leafing out again.
The plant goes semi-dormant in extended cold weather.

The extensive root system was made by lifting the plant up out of the soil about an inch or two every 18 months or so.
Stem cuttings almost always survive and grow well, but I don't think the base will grow out into the big, beautiful twisted mass of root/stem that you see here. I'll get back to you in a couple of years with a progress report on that.
