Water sparingly and give it lots of sun.
This one will only get about three feet tall before it insists on laying over, where it'll stem and pup all over the place.
Especially vicious spines...don't touch it! The best gloves, even reinforced with duct tape, will not stop the spines of a healthy specimen.
It seems to tolerate slightly below-freezing temperatures.
If you have tongs you can get lots of cuttings which will grow readily.
