Echinopsis oxygona
Echinopsis oxygona
This one gets about 4 hours of sun per day. The largest 'mother' plant is about 12 years old.
Echinopsis seems to be able to take full sun to mostly shade, lots of water or very little.
In the springtime they tend to look shriveled and brown around the edges. Right when it starts to warm up I start pouring on the water, almost keeping the soil moist, and it plumps and greens like nobody's business.
In late spring it may or may not flower. When it has too many pups for its size it tends to not flower as much or at all. The flowers only last one or two days, but they are bigger than you'd think they should be for such a small plant.
All of those pups, even the smallest, can be knocked off and planted with almost 100% success.
